2020 in Review
Happy new years to you all. I wanted to wish everyone a healthy and safe start to 2021. I am thinking of each one of you.
2020 was certainly a year to remember. Each of us had to adapt to a new way of life. The world went into lockdown overnight and we were distant from our loved ones, neighbors, and friends. This year, Anchor and Pine saw a lot of changes where larger weddings shifted to micro weddings and elopements. There were many rescheduled shoots to the following year, so to fill time, I started to document time spent at home around my neighborhood, where my community came together to honor health care heroes daily and celebrated birthdays in alley ways, safely outdoors.
Donations for my yearly 5% to public land pledge went to organizations like Pacific Crest Trail Association, Washington Trail Association, Trail Keepers of Oregon, National Park Foundation, Surfrider of Portland, and Oregon State Park. Additionally in 2020, I wanted to go further and support our greater community in important areas whether that be giving to food banks, diversifying the outdoors or supporting mental health in underserved communities: Feeding America, Food Bank of Oregon, The Loveland Foundation, Color of Change, Wild Diversity, and She Jumps. I want to continue to donate 5% to public lands, and each year give what I can to local organizations supporting Black communities, diversifying the outdoors for BIPOC, WOC, and women, and supporting our food banks that are in need not only when there is a pandemic.
There is so much more we can all do to support one another for a better tomorrow. I learned a lot this year, but my single most important takeaway is that we all need to find a place in our hearts for one another, because in the end, our love and kindness for one another will help us get through these hard days.
All my best,

P.S. I have compiled some photos from 2020 from my elopements, weddings, family portraits, and neighborhood photos this year.
